Streetwise was delighted to be involved with the planning and implementation of a National Monitoring Framework on behalf of Cycling Scotland.
This commission saw the first comprehensive measurement of active travel mode share in Scotland, and grew over a two year period from 28 sites across 4 council areas, to over 100 sites in a dozen council areas.
By monitoring twice a year, for two days in each case, we were able to demonstrate the growth of cycling. And by measuring all vehicle classes, we can also measure the shift in mode share to test the effectiveness of government policy promoting active travel.
